Investment Opportunities in Jerusalem

In spite of the present political situation in the city of Jerusalem, the chances for investment in the city are still good; they can turn out high profits, especially in the field of tourism. The current laws and regulations encourage investment in Jerusalem. We also expect that encouragement for investment in Jerusalem will increase as soon as the Palestinian National Authority assumes its responsibilities in Jerusalem.

Many tourists wish to spend more of their leisure time in East Jerusalem, to get acquainted with its eastern features, and to enjoy eating the oriental Arab food. The streets and narrow alleys that make out the eastern part of Jerusalem are much appreciated by its visitors. The opportunities for a longer stay for a tourist in Jerusalem should increase if additional attractive tourist sites and resorts were set up. Some of the most important actions will be to re-activate the Mamluks Oriental Baths, to develop hotel services, to increase the folkloric displays for tourists.

Jerusalem is capable of absorbing more hotels. Currently the need is to double the existing hotel rooms, totaling 2800 rooms (4800 beds). It is also possible to double the number of restaurants to cope with the increasing number of the visitors to the sacred land of the Christians and the visitors of the Al-Aksa Mosque.

Jerusalem needs to develop the industry of the souvenir gifts, producing competitive commodities related to the Holy City and its holy sites. Jerusalem also lacks modern tourist services, like automatic laundries, and catering plants.
