Draft law of the Palestinian Chambers of Commerce & Industry & Agriculture…WHERE TO?


1- On 14/2/2004 a meeting was held between the chairmen of the Palestinian Chambers of Commerce & Industry, and the ex-minister of the National Economy Mr. Maher al-Masri, in order to discuss the new law of the Chambers.

In this meeting, a joint Committee was formed both sides the Chambers of Commerce and Ministry.

2- On 9/3/2005 a meeting was held between the joint committee and the present Minister of the National Economy Mr. Mazen Sinnokrot, whereas he blessed the work of the said committee, and urged them to draft the law as quick as possible, in order to be able to delete the Legislative Council decision to split the Chambers of Industry.

Another two meetings were held on 13/3/2005and 26/3/2005, whereas the committee finalized the work of the law and was submitted to the Minister of the National Economy to pass it to the Legislative Council.

3- On 10/4/2005, we were surprised once again by the Minister of the National Economy Mr. Mazen Sinnokrot that the chambers must not remain united but be split to chambers of commerce and chambers of industry.

The Federation and the Chambers of Commerce & Industry and Agriculture, refused the new draft proposed by the Minister of the National Economy, and insisted to be united as before.
